Accessibility Statement for JC Sim Supplies
This statement was last updated: 29th October 2025
This accessibility statement applies to JC Sim Supplies website: https://www.jcsimsupplies.co.uk
This website is run by JC Sim Supplies. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We also try to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.
If you have a disability, search AbilityNet for "how to" guides to make your device easier to use.
How accessible this website is:
This website is launching in October 2025, we have tried to consistently implement the below when building the site to ensure the site is as accessible as possible:
- checked the zoom level of pages up to 400%
- added alternative text to images
- use a clean layout to support the use of navigation with keyboards and speech recognition software
- high contrast levels throughout the site
- consistent use of heading elements
After the launch of the store we will use web accessibility evaluation tools to help us determine if our web content meets accessibility guidelines and what further work we can undertake to support this. We will use appropriate tools that have been submitted to the W3C website.
We intend to evaluate the accessibility of our website as a whole, once live, with a further focus on:
- PDFs
- widgets and apps
- tables
- embedded media
- online forms
Until the website goes fully live we will be limited in the use of the accessibility tools to support this work. We will though, endeavour to complete our evaluation review and work within 6 months of the website launch and commit to actively trying to address any issues as part of an ongoing programme to improve the accessibility of this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.
Other parts of the website that are not fully accessible
These include:
- links to websites or software that we do not own or manage and so cannot guarantee their accessibility
We are actively working to address these issues as part of an ongoing programme to improve the accessibility of this website.

Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
JC Sim Supplies is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
As the website is not live yet we're unable to fully test all aspects. However currently we believe:
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Information, structure, and relationships conveyed through presentation can be programmatically determined or are available in text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) as it could not be fully reviewed using our testing method while the website was in draft format. As such we could not sign off compliance.
The purpose of each input field collecting information about the user can be programmatically determined under defined circumstances. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.5 (Identify Input Purpose) as it could not be fully reviewed using our testing method while the website was in draft format. As such we could not sign off compliance.
In content implemented using markup languages that support the specified text style properties, no loss of content or functionality occurs by setting all of the following and by changing no other style property. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.12 (Text Spacing) as it could not be fully reviewed using our testing method while the website was in draft format. As such we could not sign off compliance.
More than one way is available to locate a web page within a set of web pages except where the web page is the result of, or a step in, a process. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.5 (Multiple Ways) as it is not fully implemented across the site on all pages.
If an input error is automatically detected, the item that is in error is identified and the error is described to the user in text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.1 (Error Identification) as it could not be fully reviewed using our testing method while the website was in draft format. As such we could not sign off compliance.
Disproportionate burden
Once we have fully reviewed our website we will undertake an assessment before claiming disproportionate burden for any aspects.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. However, as our documentation is published after this date, any PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
At JC Sim Supplies we want to provide the best service possible for all users, this includes creating an accessible website. We want to make accessible services by:
- considering accessibility from the start when building a page or adding content
- if possible research with disabled users or test pages
- using a library of accessible components and templates
- carry out regular accessibility audits and testing
- designing and build our website to level AA of WCAG 2.2
We are making sure that accessibility issues highlighted in this statement are being prioritised and fixed. Measures include:
- full testing and evaluation of the website by 31st May 2026
- endeavouring to meet level AA of WCAG 2.2 by 31st May 2026
- where the prior point is not possible, produce a report to establish and document any disproportionate burden and/or provide a timeline or timescales to complete remedial work
- review the use of PDFs with a view to replace with more accessible content where possible
